Dr. HarteWeiner
Dr. Harte Weiner has resided in Cambridge since 1985, before which
she attended college at Harvard University. Her advanced degrees include a
Ph.D. in English and American Literature from Stanford University (1990), and
an M.F.A. in Poetry from Columbia University (1981). Dr. Weiner has taught on
the faculties of Brown, Tufts, and Harvard Universities, as well as for the
Cambridge Center for Adult Education, Phillips Andover Academy, Upward Bound,
and the Harvard Summer School for Foreign Students. Dr. Weiner directed Honors
Theses for the Harvard University Department of English for six years in the
capacity of non-resident tutor at Winthrop House. She began professional
editing in 1993.
Also holding key posts in the Creative Writing field, Dr. Weiner
served as Contributing Editor to The Paris Review under Jonathan Galassi, and
Assistant Director to The Academy of American Poets, with then-Director Henri
Cole. This academic year, her editing work has focused on Dissertations,
Creative Theses in several genres—and essays of application to institutions of
higher learning.
